Discrete time
•Signals can be converted into discrete time through the
use of a sample and hold device.
•This device samples the signal at a sampling rate (fs)
which is much greater than
the input sampling rate of the input waveform.
Each sampled signal is held
until the next sample is taken
•This sampling can be used with “bucket brigade”
(discrete time) devices or as
an input to a quantizer (to be converted to a digital signal)
