PCM
•The most common form for storing
a digital signal (and the only one we will consider)
is Pulse Code Modulation or PCM
•Simply, PCM assigns a certain
code to each sample value
0 = 000 1 = 001, etc.
•Negative numbers are expressed
in 2’s complement.
